4. Contract

Now that you have a signed a purchase order we are ready to move forward with a contract.
Every contract is a little different, depending on your local and state rules. For your convenience, we have included a sample contract in the resources section for your perusal.
Before signing a contract, we will work together to:
- Pick out materials and finishes on the selections worksheet to configure your home to meet your needs.
- Choose window and door selections.
- Provide the site contractor with our Builder Handbook (your mkD project manager will supply).
Your next steps are:
- Select a site contractor. Please refer to the Scope of Work Sample Agreement in the resources section for a list of what mkD does vs. what a site contractor handles.
- Connect mkD Project Manager with your Site Contractor.
- Finalize choice on house location (on site); have surveyor place house officially on the site.
- Have site engineer design septic and place well if necessary.

mkD Services:
Our Included Services:
- We review our detailed specs and configurations with you to determine what works best for you.
- We send you samples so you can review the touch and feel of the products
- We draw all contract architectural drawings for the final contract & reviewing them with you
Required Additional Services:
- We require a foundation to be designed and engineered, typically by one of our partner engineering firms, specific to your site conditions
- Depending on your jurisdiction, there may be local requirements for architectural review, design, or project management / zoning services required at this stage. If so, we set up a simple Services Agreement to outline the scope of these services.
Optional Additional Services: For clients who are interested, we charge an hourly rate for site design, extra ancillary structure design, and more. Please contact mkD Sales if you are interested in these ancillary services as part of your purchase process.
Outside Vendor Services: At this stage, your Site Contractor should be working on hard foundation bids, excavation, utilities and other key bids to determine the full costs of the project. Your Site Contractor and mkD will set up an mkD & Site Contractor Scope of Work specific to your project as part of the Contract process, and this scope with associated drawings and details will help your Site Contractor pull together bids.
