Costs
The estimated costs for the (3) different mkLotus™ home packages:
mkLotus™ (classic) || mkLotus™ (upgrade) || mkLotus™ (the shell)
2. mkLotus™ (upgrade)
Factory cost: $225,000 + tax
This includes the factory cost for the 1-bedroom, 700sf version. Shipping, setting, button up and site costs are in addition to this. For the 2-bedroom version, the cost would be approximately double. This package includes the following:
- Exterior finishes: Cemonit cement board, FSC certified cedar siding (all cement board, galvalume, corten steel options are also available)
- Metal roofing on sloped section, cool roof EPDM on parapet portion
- Flooring: Bamboo flooring options, or other eco-flooring from eco-timber
- Recycled glass tiles in bathroom
- Insulation: healthy, high performance spray-in foam insulation
- Mechanical system: High-velocity heating and cooling provided by high-efficiency heat pump
- On-demand water heater
- Glazing: Andersen Eagle wood with metal cladding, dual pane, low-e, and skylights. Nanawall accordian glass doors in the living room
- Lutron Shades included
- Cabinets: FSC certified wood cabinets (maple or cherry)
- Countertops: Concrete with fly ash and rice hull from Concreteworks
- Fixtures: Kolher plumbing fixtures that are low flow, water conserving
- Appliances: Energy Star appliances include oven, cooktop, refrigerator, freezer and stacking washer and dryer
- Interior doors: sliding ecoresin panels in bedroom
- Lighting: LED and CFL lighting systems and controls + Vessel light at entry
- Walls: No VOC paints
Additional options are also available:
- For Living Roof add on: $15,000
- For solar add on (before rebates): $24,000
- Water Catchment system: varies
- Grey Water system: varies
