- Reduce water intake: Features like dual flush toilets, low flow showerheads and on-demand water heaters create less of a dependency on fresh water.
- Re-use water: Rain-water catchment systems collect rain water for irrigation. Gray water systems collect water from sinks and showers, which can then be recirculated for use in toilets.
- Site waste management & minimizing storm water run-off: Solutions such as green “living” roof and wall systems and permeable materials for walkways and driveways allow for maximum the absorption and reuse of rainwater.
