- Efficient fixtures: We use LED lights in our houses, which are huge energy savers.
- Efficient appliances: The appliances we use in our homes all bear the Energy Star certification.
- Efficient heating system: The hi-velocity/mini-duct heating systems we install in our houses not only use less energy but can sometimes even radiate it.
- Efficient cooling system: Features in our houses such as ceiling fans, house fans, and cool roof systems serve as energy efficient means for keeping homes cool in hot weather.
- Energy monitoring system: We employ monitoring systems that tell residents how much energy their home is producing and how much they’re using. The more advanced models can even be used to sell excess energy to the local power company.
- Sun shading: We incorporate elements into our houses that provide sun shading in order to help keep them cool. Low tech sliding wood sunshades, Lutron shades, trellises, and screens all play a role in keeping a house cool.
- Alternative energy sources: Our houses are designed to work with multiple alternative energy sources including solar, wind generation, and geo-thermal power.
