We believe that beautiful, healthy homes should be convenient for homeowners to design and build, available at reasonable prices and a pleasure to live in! Our mission is to build mkDesign homes for people across the world.
Thoughtful Design
mkDesigns applies a clean and green approach to all projects, to let the green in™ to every room through the use of eco-friendly materials, low-energy lighting design, energy efficient building systems, and a sustainable layout, allowing clients to live cleanly and lightly.
Clean Quality
mkDesigns projects use the highest quality materials, finishes, and advanced technology construction systems. Each building is prefabricated in a controlled environment. Off-site construction provides higher quality, generates less waste, and saves time, resulting in homes that are stronger than traditional site-built homes.
Best Practices
mkDesigns employs experienced designers, project managers and technology experts with sustainable and off-site building experience. We share a common vision to change how buildings are designed and built. Throughout our process, we offer clients the best practices for design and construction management services.

About mkDesigns
Founded
mkDesigns was founded in 2002 and was acquired by Blu Homes, Inc. in 2009.
Ownership
mkDesigns is a wholly owned subsidiary of Blu Homes, Inc., which is privately owned and operated.
Clients
Approximately 40 mkDesigns homes have been delivered to homeowners on the West Coast of the U.S. The homes will be available throughout the U.S. starting with the Glidehouse in August 2010.
mkDesigns is Green
mkDesigns was founded on the philosophy of clean, green living – both for the health and comfort of home owners and for our impact on the natural world. All mkDesigns homes are built with interior and exterior spaces that “let the green in”. Our homes are also LEED certifiable, and mkDesigns is an Energy Star Partner.
